PA UCC Residential Code Update: Part 1
Per the requirements of Act 45 of 1999 (as amended), the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Review and Advisory Council (RAC) completed its review of the 2021 I-Codes on June 13, 2024, with the adopted code provisions expected to take effect in July 2025. This session will provide an overview of the UCC update process and timeline for implementation, examine key legislative and RAC amendments to the 2021 I-Codes, and explore their implications for residential construction, including impacts on design, performance, and budgets.
PA UCC Residential Code: Update 2
Building upon the previous session, 2021 PA UCC Residential Code: Update 1, this session delves deeper into the implications of transitioning to the portions of the 2021 ICC base codes approved for adoption, with a focus on highlights of new code provisions affecting residential construction. Participants will explore efficient methods for identifying changes between the 2018 and 2021 ICC codes, discuss substantial updates impacting design, cost, and occupant safety, and examine specific changes such as increased building envelope airtightness requirements. Additionally, the session will provide insights into best practices and resources related to building enclosure standards influenced by these code updates
